What can I say!!! A fantastic day of archery at Hagley Wood. Registration went as efficiently as ever, at no point can I remember more than 5 people queuing to get their card. A personal thanks got to Keith, who less than 2 weeks earlier was having surgery, and Paul who was also recovering from an operation. Tremendous job gents!
The day started dry and a little chilly but after a few cups of tea and a warm up on the butts everyone was ready and up for shooting by 10-30am. By the time we had all people out on the course it was almost 11am. Thank you all for being patient but judging by the comments at the end of the day it was well worth the wait. We had a mixture of 3-D’s and 2-D’s and a mixture of wet weather and sunny weather, just so the archers didn’t get bored on the day. The course was organised by Malcolm and Rex, and the weather was organised by someone much higher than them.
We had an hour for lunch so people had time to walk back and grab some grub, and not only have time to eat it, but also time to sample some more. As usual the ladies in catering were phenomenal, and so was the food. I can’t express enough, how much all archers appreciate the people who work in catering on shoots, but I do know one thing, they are fantastic, and I for one, couldn’t do half as good a job.
Thanks go to all the people who turned up on the day and shot, also to all the helpers on putting out the shoot and packing away at the end. I’m not going to name them all, they know who they are.
I apologise for not having any photo’s of the shoot this year but I wasn’t able to walk round the wood on Sunday due to a little accident on the Saturday. I hope you all enjoyed your day, and I hope to see most of you again next year.
