| Scarecrow Weekend |
|
|
It is with great
disappointment that we have to advise everyone that 'Frankley Bowmen
Archery Club' will not be in attendance at this years 2008 Scarecrow
Weekend. |
|
| After discussions with The
Scarecrow Committee - Frankley have decided it would not be in their
financial interest to work these two days. |
|
|
The school want to do their own catering by
means of a BBQ and will not allow Frankley's catering on site. Beverley
is of the opinion that they will not be able to cope with the demand.
Her comments have been voiced to them, with a suggestion that the school
hold their BBQ along side what Frankley already does! However, the
schools new PTA Committee feel they know better than those who have
worked the situation for more years then they care to remember. |
|
|
|
The Scarecrow Committee have been trying to
find us an alternative spot because they do not want to lose us as an
attraction. However Safety must come above everything else and when
Malcolm originally walked the sites with the Committee he decided the
school was the only safe place to shoot because all other areas had walk
ways off them. |

|
You will all be mindful
of the fact that we have always split the profits with the Scarecrows
Committee 50/50 and cannot, because of escalating costs, meet the
schools demands for higher donations this year. For some it means
attending to help for the two days. For others it is the week before and
week after to set up and clean up. Which is quite honestly very hard
work for no return. |
|
Please do not despair your help will be
called upon shortly !
We are arranging two invitation only shoots at 'The Farm' to recoup any
financial loss to the club from not working the weekend. |
|
Best Wishes
Elaine, Beverley and Richard |
