The use of ARROWS MADE OF CARBON IS NO LONGER ALLOWED in the school gym, due to insurance restrictions and for health and safety reasons. (These are black arrows usually with "carbon" or a number written on them - please check).
Carbon can burst over a wide area and if embedded in the body can cause severe infection. As carbon particles are very small and do not show up on an X-ray, diagnosis is very difficult. The first symptoms are usually infection of the surrounding area itself. This infection could occur in any organ, limb or body part. We have to remember that the gym is still used by children for sports.
Think! Halls and Gyms are at a premium for our use - don't be silly and use carbon arrows or your insurance cover will be NULL AND VOID in the gym. We may also loose this valuable resource.
